May 23 Is the Day To Perform Kind Acts
In Honor of Fred Rogers
The right people, doing the right things,
the right way, for the right reasons.
Right at Home.
Right at Home.
The Governor of Pennsylvania has declared that May 23 will be the day that residents of Pennsylvania (and anyone else who wishes to participate) can perform acts of kindness in honor of Mr. Rogers.
May 23 was chosen as it is the143rd day of the year and 143 was Fred Rogers' favorite number. It was his favorite because each digit reflected the number of letters in each word in his favorite phrase: "I love you". The day was selected, according to the Pennsylvania deputy secretary of marketing, as an antidote to all the negativity we are surrounded with every day.
As Fred Rogers once said "Imagine what our real neighborhoods would be like if each of us offered, as a matter of course, just one kind word to another person".
Our belief at Right at Home of Central New Jersey is that we always try to lead by example and be as kind as we can to our clients, their family members, our caregivers, our colleagues, our partners and our community in the same way that we would want someone to be kind to our family members.
