Right at Home of
Central New Jersey
Prepares to
Serve Veterans Through New Nationwide Network
East
Brunswick, NJ – July 1, 2019 – Right
at Home of Central New Jersey located in East Brunswick will now be able to offer veterans
healthcare through partnerships with network contractors and local veteran
medical centers. This comes
after the
U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs’ recent implementation of the largest
changes to its healthcare plan for veterans in four years. These changes are a
result of the passage of the VA MISSION Act, signed by President Trump in June
2018. The plan’s changes include criteria for determining when a veteran can
see a non-VA medical provider and the establishment of a new network of
providers that is being built by private insurers. The VA believes the changes
will enable veterans to get the healthcare they need in a more efficient
manner.
The new network consolidates
different programs of care for veterans when VA medical facilities are unable
to provide services. Through its subsidiaries, UnitedHealth Group was awarded
the contract to administer the new network in the eastern and central United States.
The contract for the western United States has not yet been awarded. Later this
year, healthcare providers that desire to serve veterans will need to be in the
new network.
Right at Home will provide
companion and personal care services to veterans through its franchise
locations in the new network throughout the eastern and central U.S. The
company will pursue contracts in the western U.S. once the network is created
by the VA. “Our nation is indebted to the services our veterans provided, and
it is Right at Home’s distinct honor to now serve them as they choose to age in
place in the comfort of their homes,” said Brian Petranick, President and CEO
of Right at Home.
Providing care for veterans is
important to Right at Home’s East
Brunswick location,
owned by Beth Sholom. Ms.
Sholom and her staff are enrolled in the network to provide care to
veterans. Being in-network enables the location’s caregivers to assist veterans
with the activities of daily living, so the veterans can remain in their homes
rather than pay more to live in a skilled nursing facility.
Right at Home of Central New Jersey recognizes the military service of
these men and women who answered the call to serve their country and thanks all
of our veterans who served and all of their families and loved ones who also
sacrificed during their time of service.
Veterans like Vincent Burke (who
served in both World War II and the Korean War) enjoyed having Right at Home
of Central New Jersey’s caregivers help reduce loneliness and provide
assistance and reminders about appointments and prescriptions. These services
gave Mr. Burke’s family and continue to give our clients’ family members peace
of mind knowing that someone is taking care of their loved one while they are
at work or with their own immediate family.
Mr. Burke’s wife, Eileen, said
about Right at Home of Central New Jersey:
When my husband was in a rehab
center, we asked the staff to recommend home health care for him after he was
discharged. They provided us with several companies and, after meeting with and
learning about all of them, we made the very easy and very good decision to
work with Beth Sholom at Right at Home of Central New Jersey. Her
caregivers took excellent care of my husband and she delivered on every
commitment she made. I would highly recommend Beth Sholom and her team
of caregivers and nurses to care for yourself or your family.
