Right at Home of Central New Jersey offers our employees many different training tools to help our caregivers learn and develop new skills. But there are 10 things you can do right now that don’t require any special training to help you BE GREAT!

•   Be on time for your assignment. Our clients rely on you to be there when you’re supposed to be. 
•   Be honest. Have respect for other people’s property and know that you can always talk to us honestly about anything you have concerns about.
•   Give it your best effort. Our clients and their families always appreciate someone who is dedicated and shows them through their efforts that they want to do the best possible job.
•   Be aware of your body language. The way you stand, walk and act says a lot about you and what you believe.
•   Be energetic. When you’re with a client, make sure you are energetic, alert and engaged. All of that makes a great impression on people.
•   Have a positive attitude. Sometimes things go wrong but how you handle those times and situations shows that you approach everything you do with positivity. 
•   Be passionate about your job. Caring for senior citizens and making sure their lives are better should be more than a job for you – it should be your calling. Let people know how much you love what you do. They’ll notice!
•   Be coachable. We all can always learn more about our jobs so that we can do them better. When there’s an opportunity to be coached – either by one of nurses or someone in a facility or by someone in our office – be open to that.
•   Do extra. People really notice when you go out of your way to do that extra little thing for them. It’s those efforts that make you a stand-out caregiver.
